Is this for initiated only men?
Yes & No. This is NOT an initiation like the New Warrior Training Adventure. Any man over the age of 18 who has completed the New Warrior Training Adventure, or, who has achieved a level of self-awareness thru some other path, is welcome
What is your policy regarding Covid 19, or its variants?
We monitor the Covid situation carefully. Vaccinations are not required to participate. However, you may be required to show proof of a negative Covid test within 24-48 hours prior to your arrival on site. The requirement for testing (or not) will be made within days of the commencement of the workshop. If required, all participants, including staff, will have to show proof of a negative test.
What time should I arrive onsite Thursday?
We recommend arriving before 10am
Workshop STARTS promptly at 11am
Late Wednesday afternoon and evening arrival available upon request (ask Dee).
(early arrivals are “on their own”)
What time will the event end on Sunday?
1:00 PM
Will final instructions be sent as to what to bring?
Yes, once you are registered and as we near the event we will send out a detailed list of what to bring, wellness guidelines and exact driving directions to the site.
If flying, what is the best airport?
Phoenix Sky Harbor (PHX is 2 hours away) has the most options.
United Airlines flies into Prescott.
Does this include transportation to the site?
No, however, we will send out a list of all attendees.
Men can connect and make arrangements together.
Rent a car, carpool, or schedule with Groome Transportation which runs an hourly non-stop shuttle between PHX and Prescott
Where is the site?
Sleeping Dog Ranch is 30 minutes from Prescott AZ, two (2) hours north of Phoenix.
Is this a Mankind Project sponsored event?
No, not affiliated.
What are the sleeping accommodations?
Camping onsite, Indoors on cots or bunks. Bring your own bedding.
What is the meal situation?
Nutritious and more than adequate.
At registration you can notify us of any special dietary needs you may have.
What about payment?
Pay by credit card thru our secure online web portal
Cancellation with a partial or full refund is conditionally available.
Who is Desert Wisdom for?
Desert Wisdom Workshops are for men who have been actively doing their work, willing to look deeply at themselves, men who are still committed to conscious growth. Ours is a deep and wide inquiry, offering space, time, and a mature loving circle. Here, we remind ourselves of what the deep masculine is, and we look more directly at the feminine in our lives. The staff brings decades of experience in Men’s Work, and together we celebrate the joy of being in an open, honest & powerful circle of men. Our workshops are for any self-aware man who wants to explore the deeper masculine, to inquire of the feminine in each of us, connect intimately with other men, who is curious, ready to dream, enjoy music, good food, meditation, good stories and delicious check-ins.
